An escalator is a set of moving stairs that is usually found in shopping centers or airports. They move so people don't need to climb up them.

A feather duster is a bundle of soft feathers at the end of a stick, or handle. They are used for cleaning very fragile things, or just for general dusting around the house. The feathers are usually from an ostrich. Today you can get very similar dusters that are made from a tuft of nylon fibres rather than feathers.

A filter is something that lets some things pass through it, but stops other things. Filters are found in many places. When you make coffee, you use a filter to stop the solid parts of the coffee from getting in the liquid part that you drink. The filters in the picture are a clean and dirty air filter. The filter on the right is full of all the dirt and grime that has been stopped from going through the filter.

A firefighter is someone who puts out fires for a living. Firefighters also rescue people and animals who are trapped in strange places, like up trees, down storm drains or if they have fallen off a cliff.
