Dis forDart

A dart is a small, relatively heavy projectile with a sharp end. Some types of dart like the one in the picture are thrown by hand, other types of dart are fired by blowing them out of a tube with your mouth.

Dis forDuel

A duel is a fight between two people that are both using the same or similar weapons. Duels were once a formal way of settling a disagreement or as payback for an insult. Duels often had rules of conduct, and duels happened between two people of equal social status, usually gentlemen or upper class men. A duel is not the same as dual.

Fis forFight

When two or more people or animals get angry with each other, sometimes they will fight, and try and hurt each other with words or their fists. Sometimes people fight for money, as in a boxing match or street fighting. Animals often fight with each other over food, nesting space, or at breeding season. You can also use fight as a noun, as in "those people are having a fight".

A gallows is a structure designed to cause death by hanging. It was typically used to execute criminals. Depending on how far the person being hanged is allowed to fall, death is caused by either strangulation on a short drop, or by having their neck broken on a long drop.

A hand grenade is a weapon that is activated and then thrown by hand or launched by some mechanical means. It explodes a short time after it is activated.

A guillotine is a French device that can be used to kill people by cutting off their heads. The victim has their head held still at the base of the device, and the blade is hoisted up quite high and let fall.

A gun in common language usually means a hand-held device that is used for firing a bullet or other projectile at high speed. Guns are used largely by police and the military.

Handcuffs are used by police officers to restrain people who have done or are suspected of having done bad things. Handcuffs are made from strong metal, and lock around your wrists so you cannot get your hands apart.

A harpoon is a type of spear that has a rope attached to the end and barbs on the point. When it is fired or thrown, the barbs make it stick into the target, and you use the rope to pull it back in. Harpoons are most often used for hunting whales.
