Badminton is a sport in which players use light racquets to hit a shuttlecock over a net. Players can play one against one or in teams of two. The aim is to make the shuttlecock land in the other side of the court.
The game became popular in England in the 1800s and was named after Badminton House, a large home where the sport was played. It is now played and watched in many countries.
