Tis forTranslucent
Something is translucent if some light can get through it, but you can't see through it clearly. Frosted windows are translucent, lower quality gemstones like quartz are often translucent, and many things that are very thin are translucent.
The leaves in the picture are translucent. Where they overlap, they are opaque.
Tis forTransparent
Something is transparent if you can see through it. Glass in windows is transparent. The lenses of sunglasses are transparent.
If you can see through something but it changes the color of everything you see, that something is still transparent but it is tinted. Filter lenses for cameras are often tinted.
The glasswing butterfly in the picture has transparent wings.
The opposite of transparent is opaque. Something that lets light through but you can't easily see through it is translucent.
A vent is an opening that lets air in or out of a building. Vents might let air flow through naturally, or have air pushed through them by a fan or air conditioner.
If someone is violent, they are being aggressive or forceful with the intention of hurting someone else.
