A lure is an artificial bait used to attract and catch fish. Lures are shaped like something that fish would like to eat, and are designed so that they move in the water so fish are attracted to them and try and eat them.

Lure means to attract someone or something by offering something appealing. A person may lure an animal with food, or lure someone with a promise of fun or help.
