Noon, or <i>midday</i>, is the middle of the day, when the <a href="/s/sun">sun</a> is at its highest point in the sky and <a href="/s/shadow">shadows</a> are at their shortest. With modern <a href="/c/clock">clocks</a> noon is at exactly 12 o'clock. The opposite of midday is <a href="/m/midnight">midnight</a>.
