Dis forDoor

A door is a way of closing off the entrance to something else, like the entrance to a house or room. Doors can be made of wood, steel or glass. You can lock some doors so that no-one can go through them.

Eis forEaves

Eaves are the part of a roof that slightly overhangs the walls of the house. Eaves protect the house from weather. A very wide eave would be called a verandah.

Fis forFence

A fence is a structure that people make. Fences are usually there to keep something on one side of the fence from getting to the other side, or just to mark a boundary. The horse in the picture is being kept in her paddock by the fence. Fences can be any height. In cities they are usually quite high, and on farms they are usually just high enough so whatever animal is being kept cannot jump over it.
A fireplace is somewhere, usually indoors, that is built to contain a fire for either cooking or heating. Fireplaces are generally made from brick, stone, rammed earth or any other material that will not burn.

Fis forFloor

A floor is the part of a building that you walk on. Floors can be made from wood or concrete and might have rugs or carpet on top of them.

Fis forFountain

A fountain is a jet of water being squirted up into the air. When people make pretty fountains, they usually put lots of little jets of water together with a statue or something else interesting looking like a sculpture. You can find fountains of all sizes in most cities.

Fis forFrame

A frame is a rigid structure that is built to go around the edge of something. Picture frames are a pretty way of surrounding a picture. Frames for a building are put in place to mark out where the walls and other structures go, and to support the structure as the spaces are filled in with bricks or other materials.
