Something is decaying if it is slowly rotting or otherwise degrading and breaking down. A civilization that is declining may be said to be in decay, for example, "the decay of the Roman empire".

December is the twelfth and last month of the year. It has 31 days. In the northern hemisphere December is part of winter, and in the southern hemisphere it is part of summer. Christmas is in December.

A deck chair is a type of chair you usually sit on to relax, at a beach, in a park or on a cruise ship. Deck chairs are usually made from a timber frame and a cloth seat, and can be folded away when they aren't being used.

Water is called deep if you cannot touch the bottom with your feet when you stand in it. Deep water can be found in the sea, or at the diving end of a pool. Wells and mines are very deep but don't always have water in them. The man in the picture is diving in some very deep water.
