A stencil is a thin sheet of cardboard, metal or plastic that has had a design cut through it. When paint is brushed or sprayed over the stencil, the paint only shows up on the surface underneath where the holes were cut. Stencils are a fast way to put a lot of the same design onto a surface. A design that has been made from a stencil can also be called a stencil.

Thorny devils, also called the thorny dragon, are lizards that live in dry regions in Australia. They grow to around 8 inches long, and can live to 20 years. They eat ants. Their skin has channels in that funnel water to their mouths if they get damp, which allows them to drink morning dew.
