A mongrel is a dog that you cannot tell what breed it is. Mongrels might simply be cross breeds, but are usually stray dogs that have been mixed breed for so long there is no way of telling what their ancestry is.

Kelpies are very energetic and are only suitable to be kept as pets by people who have a lot of time and space to exercise them. Bored kelpies can be noisy and destructive.
A race is where two or more people or animals try and take the shortest possible time to travel a set distance. The winner is the fastest. There are lots of different kinds of race. The picture is of some people racing each other on bicycles, but there are also horse races, dog races, running races, car races and of course anything that can move can be raced.
