A lerp is a protective cover made by the larvae of some kinds of insects. Lerps are made from sugary liquid that the larvae make. Once it is dry, it is hard and crystalline.

Lipizzaners, or Lipizzans, are a breed of white horse that is today used and bred at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna as a performing horse. Lipizzaners are trained over many years to perform complicated moves.

The llama is from South America. It is related to the camel. It is used as a pack animal by people who live in the mountains of South America. Llamas are social and like to live in groups, or herds. Llamas can grow to between 5.5 ft (1.7 m) to 6 ft (1.8 m) tall at the top of the head. They can weigh between approximately 280 lb (130 kg) and 450 lb (200 kg). A a baby llama is called a cria.

Locusts are a kind of grasshopper that form into huge swarms. When they are swarming in such large numbers they can strip crops and gardens completely.

A lynx is a medium-sized wild cat with tufts on top of its ears and a short tail. They live in forests in the mountains of Europe and Asia.
