The bluebird is a small songbird that is bright blue on its back and wings and a duller color underneath. It lives in open country like fields, meadows, and farmland. Bluebirds hop around on the ground to look for insects and berries, and they nest in holes in trees or they might nest in bird boxes if you provide them. They're known for their cheerful, clear songs.
