A cake fork is a small fork used for eating cake and other soft desserts. It usually has three or four short prongs, called tines, and a narrow handle. It is small to fit on a dessert plate. Many cake forks have one wider or sharper tine on the side that acts like a knife to help cut small pieces off their cake.
