A partridge is a small, round-bodied bird with a short beak and strong legs, usually with brown or grey feathers that help it blend into the ground. It lives in open fields, grasslands, and farmland, often hiding in thick cover. Partridges mostly walk on the ground to find seeds, grains, and small insects, and they use quick bursts of flight to escape danger.
