A wallflower is a flowering plant with narrow, pointed leaves and clusters of small, four-petaled flowers. Their flowers may be yellow, orange, red, pink, or purple, and many wallflowers have a sweet smell. The plant is usually a biennial or short-lived perennial, meaning it grows for one or two years.

Wallflowers originally come mainly from Europe and western Asia. They often grow in cracks in stone walls, rocks, and other dry places, which gives them their name.
