Pis forPug

Pugs are a small breed of dog originally from China. They are solidly built, with a short, wrinkly face and a curled tail. Most pugs are fawn, but can be found in apricot, silver and black too.
Rottweilers are a large, strong, sturdy dog originally bred as a herding dog in Germany. Today they are often seen as guard dogs. They are good natured, calm, and are good around children.
Rough collies are a long-haired breed of medium-sized to large dog originally used to herd animals in Scotland. They are not a nervous or agressive dog and are good with children. They make good family pets. The most famous rough collie is Lassie, so some people call this kind of dog a Lassie dog.

Sis forSamoyed

Samoyeds are large, long-haired white dogs from Siberia. They were bred to herd reindeer, to pull sleds and to keep their owners warm at night. They are a very energetic breed and need lots of space and regular exercise or they will get bored and destructive. They are friendly dogs and don't make very good guard dogs. One of their interesting features is they don't have a 'doggy' smell and they don't shed much, so are classed as 'hypoallergenic'.
Schnauzers are dogs from Germany with a distinctive hairy moustache - 'schnauzer' is the German word for moustache. They are usually a salt-and-pepper colour, with white and black hairs mixed together. They were originally bred as a rat catcher and guard dog, but there are now three different size breeds - large, standard and miniature. They are friendly, loving dogs and are good with children. They are protective and make excellent guard dogs.
Scottish terriers are a small dog that is usually black, from the Scottish highlands. They were originally bred to hunt rats and badgers, and they have strong tails so their owners can pull them out of holes they have dug. They are determined, stubborn, fiesty and territorial. They make good watch dogs.

Sis forShih Tzu

Shih tzu are an ancient breed of companion dog, bred to be a lap dog for Chinese royalty. They were bred to look like the lions in traditional oriental art. Their fur will grow into a long, silky coat if looked after, but most people keep their fur clipped short. They are a sweet, devoted, playful dog.
A Saint Bernard is a dog originally bred for rescue in the Swiss Alps. They are a large dog, with a large head, and can weigh anything up to 100kg (220 pounds). St Bernards are prone to many genetic health conditions, such as hip displaysia and turned eyelids, and have a lifespan of only 8 years. They are loyal and affectionate, but because they are so big it is essential they are well-trained, as such a large dog can knock children down and hurt them if it is boisterous.
The Staffordshire bull terrier, or staffy, is a medium sized, stocky dog originally bred for bull baiting. They are friendly, courageous, stubborn and friendly. They are good with children and make good family pets. Staffordshire bull terriers are often confused with bull terriers, which is a more aggressive and difficult breed.
