Events

An accident is something that happens when you are not expecting it, and that you didn't mean to have happen. The opposite of something happening by accident is happening deliberately, or on purpose.

A ball is a large, formal social gathering where people would eat a good meal, and then dance socially. They were typically for the upper classes, and people would dress up in their best, most expensive clothes for the ball. Balls used to be a way for people to meet each other.

A celebration is a party for an event like a birthday or holiday. Fireworks are often a part of big celebrations like New Year's Eve or the Fourth of July.

A collision is the act of two things colliding.

Divorce is the legal end of a marriage. When two people decide they don't want to be married any more, they go to court where a judge gives them a divorce.

When something explodes it suddenly gets bigger. Explosions usually make a loud noise and make a lot of heat. Popcorn popping is an example of a small explosion, and a bomb going off is an example of a large one. Large explosions can create so much force they can reduce buildings to rubble.

A meeting is a time when people come together as a group to talk or work on something.

People usually meet in a special room, or online. Meetings are for discussing plans, sharing ideas, and making decisions. Meetings often include a chairperson or a leader who helps to keep everything running smoothly.

A party is an event where a group of people get together and have fun. Parties often have food and drinks served at them.

A premiere is the first performance of an artistic work such as a play, movie, or concert. Movie premieres are often attended by the actors who made the movie, and they enter the theater first by walking down a red carpet.

A rally is a large gathering of people who come together for a common purpose such as protest or support of a political cause.
