Being jolly is the feeling of being cheerful, joyful, festive, and happy. Christmas is often thought of as a jolly holiday. Santa Claus is often described as being a jolly person.

Joy is extreme happiness. The little girl in the picture is jumping for joy.

Lis forLaugh

People laugh as a reaction to something funny, or when they are tickled. Laughing is normally something you do when you are very happy.

Lis forLike

You like something if you find it enjoyable. Most people like chocolate, they like their pets and they like their friends. The boy in the picture likes icecream. When you really really like someone or something, you can say you love them. Like is also another word for similar or alike.

Lis forLove

When you really, really like someone or something, you love them. Some people will do almost anything for someone or something they love. Love can be a powerful force that can override other emotions and common sense. Love is what keeps married couples together for a long, long time.
Nonchalant means calm and not showing stress or interest. Someone nonchalant may act like they don't care.

Pis forPain

Pain is a bad, distressing physical or emotional feeling. You feel pain when you are hurt or sick, or if something bad happens in your life like you break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

Pis forProud

You feel proud when you have a good feeling about something that you have done, or something that someone else has done. A parent may be proud of their child who has just graduated university. A child may be proud of making a very good painting. The boy in the picture is proud of his newborn baby brother.
Restraint means holding back. It could mean a device that holds you in place or stops you moving, like a set of handcuffs. It might also mean self-control. The dog in the picture is showing great restraint in not eating the cookies.

Sis forSad

When you are sad, you are gloomy and don't smile. Sometimes you cry when you are sad. People get sad when someone they like goes away, or if they watch a sad movie or read a sad book. The person in the picture is sad.
