A photo of guacamole
Guacamole is a thick, green dip made mainly from mashed avocado. It often includes onion, tomato, chili, lime juice, and cilantro (coriander).

Guacamole originated in Mexico. It is prepared simply by mashing the ingredients together, sometimes in a stone bowl. People eat guacomole with tortilla chips, tacos, or in other Mexican dishes.
