A is for Ate

Ate is the past tense of eat.

A is for Awoke

Awoke is the past tense of waking up, or another way of saying you are waking up.

You might say "I awoke at dawn". The word is also used in books and stories to show a person noticing an idea or truth, like "she awoke to the problem."

B is for Binned

Binned is the past tense of bin, usually meaning to put something in a bin, for example "he binned all the leftover food".

B is for Bled

Bled is the past tense of bleed, for example "our dog bled on the carpet".

Blown is the past tense of blow. For example, "all the candles were blown out".

B is for Brawled

Brawled is the past tense of brawl.

B is for Bred

Bred is the past tense of breed. It is usually used to talk about animals who have been bred to look or behave a certain way, as in "this horse was bred to run fast".

Bucked is the past tense of buck. For example, "the horse bucked off it's rider".

Built is the past tense of build. For example, "I built a house".

B is for Burdened

Someone is burdened if they are carrying a heavy load or burden.
A similar word to burdened is laden.

Something is burnt or burned if it was on fire at some point in the past and is now blackened and charred. Food can become burnt if you cook it for too long.

Called is the past tense of call.

C is for Came

Came is the past tense of come.

C is for Capped

Something is capped if it has something on top of it. Birds with a colored patch on top of their heads are often described as capped. Mountains covered with snow are called snow-capped.
Something that has been closed with a lid on top has been capped.

The gum flowers in the picture are just shedding their caps and opening.

Caught is the past tense of catch. The dog in the picture has caught two balls.

C is for Charred

Something is charred if it has been blackened a little by heat, usually from being cooked. The picture is of some charred peppers.

Chased is the past tense of chase.

Clapped is the past tense of clap, for example "they clapped after the performance".
