A rolling pin is a long cylindrical tool, usually made of wood, which usually has a handle on each end to grip onto. Rolling pins are used for flattening out pastry into a smooth sheet the same thickness all over, so it can be used as a pie casing or to cut cookies from.
A slotted spoon is a large kitchen spoon used for serving food. It has openings through the bowl of the spoon so it can pick up food that is in a liquid, like vegetables or pasta, leaving the liquid behind.

Tongs are a kind of tool that is used for picking up food. They usually have a long handle, and you use them as an extension of your hands so you don't burn your hands. Tongs are used most often when barbecuing .

W is for Whisk

A whisk is a utensil made from many loops of wire that you use for mixing things together. Whisks are most often used for beating eggs together to make scrambled eggs.
A wooden spoon is a kitchen tool made from wood. Unlike a metal spoon, wooden spoons don't scratch your pots and pans, and they do not heat up quickly like metal, so the handle usually stays comfortable to hold.
