An animal is pied or piebald when its coat or feathers has large patches of two or more colors, usually on a white background. The horse in the picture has a black and white piebald coat.
A playground slide (or slippery dip if you are in Australia) is a smooth slippery sloped surface that you slide down. They are usually made of metal or plastic and have a set of stairs or a ladder at the back to climb up.
Pride is the state of being proud. Pride as one of the seven deadly sins is taking being proud to excess. You commit the sin of pride when you are vain, and too interested in yourself to the point of not noticing things other people do.

The tides are the rising and falling of the sea because of the pull of the moon and sun on the oceans. The depth of the water near the coast can change by several metres between high tide and low tide. At low tide a beach may have much, much more sand exposed than at high tide. The beach in the picture is at low tide. You can clearly see the dark mark on the jetty posts where the high tide comes to.

Something is wide if there is a long distance from one side of it to the other. The river in the picture is wide. The opposite of wide is narrow.
