Bis forBottle

A bottle is a container with a long neck that is used to store liquids like water, soft drinks, wine and even shampoo.

A bowl is a shallow vessel with an open top that you eat out of. Bowls are usually used for cereal, soups and sometimes noodles or pasta.
Chopsticks are used in many Asian cultures instead of a fork. They are just two sticks that you hold in one hand and use a slight scissor action to pick up food between the ends of the chopsticks.
If you have never used chopsticks before it can take some practise to be able to properly pick up your food. Most food that is designed to be eaten with chopsticks is cut into small pieces before it is cooked, so you don't need a knife while you are eating.

A cup or mug is very similar to a glass. All three are used to drink from. Glasses are transparent so you can see what is inside, and mugs have a handle on the side to help hold them. People usually drink hot drinks from cups with handles.

A dish is a tool or container used for serving food, such as a plate, bowl, or cup.

Dish is also another word for a part of a meal.

A fork is used for picking up food with. The part of the fork that sticks into the food has several tines - the fork in the picture has four tines.

A goblet is a medieval style drinking vessel. It is similar to a modern wine glass but tends to be quite large, with a heavy stem. Goblets can be made from plain earthenware, pewter, glass, various metals or even wood.

A jug is a container designed to pour a liquid like water or milk from. It has a handle to hold it with and a spout so that whatever is in the jug goes in the right place and doesn't spill and make a mess when you pour it.

Kis forKnife

A knife is used for cutting food. There are many different kinds of knife. Blunt knives are used for spreading butter, and very big sharp knives are used for cutting up roast meat.

Mis forMug

A mug is a type of cup often used for drinking hot beverages, such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. A mug is bigger than a cup.

Pis forPlacemat

A place mat is a small mat that is put on a table, with one diner's place setting of cutlery and plate on it. Place mats protect the table from damage as well as looking attractive.

Pis forPlate

A plate is like a bowl, but is very flat and cannot be used to eat very runny things like soup.

Sis forSaucer

A saucer is a kind of small plate. Saucers are usually not as flat as plates, and tend to curve upwards at the edges. Saucers usually come in a set with a matching teacup.

Sis forSpoon

A spoon is used for picking up food that isn't very hard or is in very small pieces, such as cereal, soup or stew. A very big spoon for serving soup is called a ladle.

A stein is a kind of large mug, usually made from glass or earthenware, that is generally used to drink beer from.
A tablecloth is a piece of fabric or plastic that you put over your table. Tablecloths can be either for protection or just for decoration.

Tis forTeacup

A teacup is a small cup with a handle that is usually used for drinking tea. Teacups are often rested on a saucer. Teacups usually come in a set with saucers and a matching teapot.

Tis forTeapot

A teapot is a ceramic jug with a lid. It is used to make tea, by adding tea leaves or teabags to very hot water in the teapot. When the tea is ready it is poured straight from the teapot.
