Ais forAfghan

Afghan means something relating to Afghanistan, or a person from Afghanistan.

Ais forAfraid

You are afraid of something when you are scared of something and you just want to run away from it.
Someone is aggressive if they are very assertive and pushy. Someone who is prone to violence is also called aggressive.

When someone is agitated, they show in their behaviour that they are anxious, upset and nervous.

Ais forAjar

A door is ajar if it has been left partly open. The door in the picture is ajar.

Ais forAlike

Alike is when some things are all very similar. The two girls in the picture are dressed alike.

Ais forAlone

Someone is alone if they are all by themselves, with no-one else around them. Sometimes alone is just a feeling - you may have people or things around you but you feel alone, and this can make you very sad.

Anal is anything to do with the anus. It is often used in slang to describe anyone who is very fussy or pedantic.

Something is ancient if it is from the distant past, or is very old. Most things that are described as ancient are from civilizations that have since fallen.

Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure. Another word for angry is mad. People often get angry when they don't get their way, or when someone disagrees with them. The person in the picture is angry.
