A is for Angry

Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure. Another word for angry is mad. People often get angry when they don't get their way, or when someone disagrees with them. The person in the picture is angry.

A is for Anonymous

Anonymous means that someone is unable to be identified, by sight or by name. The people in the picture are wearing masks so they can be anonymous.

A is for Antique

Something is antique if it is old, and people think it is worth collecting. Some antique things aren't worth very much, and people just like to collect them. But other things become more valuable the older they get, and some antique items can cost a lot of money to buy. Antique is often used to describe an old, expensive item, while vintage is often used to describe a less expensive old item, but the two words can be interchanged.

A is for Anxious

Anxious is another word for worried or nervous. When you are anxious you can be afraid of something other people might find normal, like answering the phone.

If you're worried or nervous all the time, you may have an anxiety disorder.

A is for Any

You use the word any when you are talking about one or more things from a group, but it doesn't matter which ones you are talking about. For example, "just pick any of those sheep, they all look the same".

A is for Aqua

Something is aqua if it is a bright blue-green. It might also be called cyan.

A is for Arid

A place is arid if very little rain falls there and it is very dry. Deserts are just very arid regions. Most arid areas still support a lot of life, with many creatures and plants that have adapted to not having a lot of water available.

A is for Artificial

Artificial is another word for fake. Something that is artificial is usually a copy of something natural like food or flowers. The flowers in the picture are artificial.

Askew means that something is crooked or uneven. The house in the picture is askew.

If you are athletic, you are physically fit due to playing sports or exercising.

Attractive is another word for pretty, handsome or appealing. If you find something attractive, you tend to be drawn to it.
