Camels are a large animal that is very well adapted for hot, dry weather. They can survive longer without water than any other animal. Camels have a big, fatty hump on their backs that stores food for times when they can't find enough to eat. They are taller than an adult man and are used to ride on or to pull carts.
There are two types of camel, dromedary camels like in the picture that only have one hump, and the bactrian which has two. There are a lot more dromedaries than bactrians in the world.
Camels are related to llamas and alpacas.

Cis forCapybara

The capybara is the world's largest living rodent, with a stocky body, short brown fur, and webbed feet that help it move through water. It lives in South America, especially near rivers, lakes, and wetlands. Capybaras are good swimmers and often spend time in the water to stay cool and safe. They graze on grasses and plants and usually live in small groups.

A caracal is a slender, muscular, medium-sized wild cat with long legs and a short tail. It is from areas of Africa, west and south Asia. Caracals usually live alone. Female caracals are very territorial, but males will roam over a very large area.
Caracals are closely related to servals.

A cat is a small, meat-eating animal that is often kept as a pet. Cats are good at hunting mice. Most dogs don't like cats, and are often seen chasing them up trees. Cats spend over half of their time asleep. A baby cat is called a kitten.

Cis forCheetah

The cheetah is the only cat that cannot climb trees. The cheetah also can run much faster than any other kind of cat. Cheetahs eat mainly small antelopes and the young of larger animals like baby zebras and baby wildebeast.
The cheetah is the fastest land animal, reaching speeds between 112 and 120 km/h (70 and 75 mph) in short bursts covering distances up to 460 metres (1,500 feet), and has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 110 km/h (68 mph) in three seconds, faster than most supercars.
Chimpanzees, or just chimps, are the closest relatives to people. They have dark hair, and can grow up to 5'6" and 70kg as adults. They are very intelligent, and live in complex social groups. Chimpanzees eat mainly fruit.
A chinchilla is a small rodent with soft, dense fur, large ears, and a thick tail. It lives high in the Andes Mountains in South America, where the weather is cool and dry. Chinchillas are most active at night.

A chipmunk is a small rodent that is very similar to the squirrel. They will eat nuts, berries, frogs and even baby mice.

The chital, or spotted deer, is a deer with a light brown coat covered in white spots. It lives in forests and open grasslands across parts of India and nearby areas.

A civet is cat-like or weasel-like small animal. Some civets have spotted or striped fur and a pointed face.
Civets live in forests and other warm places in Asia and Africa. They search for food at night, eating fruits, insects, and small animals. Civets are sometimes known for a strong-smelling scent they release to protect themselves.

The cougar is a kind of large cat that is also known as a puma or mountain lion. It is the equal fourth largest cat, after the tiger, lion and jaguar.
Cougars hunt large animals like deer and wild sheep and goats, but will also hunt domestic animals like horses.

The coyote, or prairie wolf, is a type of dog found around North America, Canada and Mexico.
Coyotes normally hunt in pairs. They usually eat smaller animals, but if they hunt in a pack they can bring down something as large as a deer.

Cuscus are very shy, solitary marsupials in the possum family. They are slow moving, and behave more like sloths or slow loris.

A deer is a kind of animal that eats grass and leaves. It grows horns called antlers on its head. A male deer is called a stag, hart or buck and a female deer is called a hind, doe or cow and a baby deer is called a fawn.

A degu is a small, brown rodent with a grayish belly, a pointed snout, and a bushy tail with a tuft at the end. It lives in rocky, dry areas of western South America. Degus are active during the day.

A dingo is a kind of yellow dog that was introduced to Australia many hundreds of years ago. They howl, but they do not bark. When people started farming sheep in Australia, the dingos killed the sheep, so people built a fence right across Australia to keep the dingos out.
