A leprechaun is a kind of Irish fairy. Leprechauns are usually little, older men wearing a green suit. Leprechauns make mischief, and store gold in a pot at the end of the rainbow. They are said to be able to grant wishes.

A mermaid is a mythical creature that is half woman and half fish. A male mermaid is a merman.
Santa Claus is also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas or Kris Kringle. On Christmas eve he visits all the good children of the world and brings them presents.

A troll is an ugly mythical creature that lives in a cave.

Uis forUnicorn

A unicorn is a mythical creature that resembles a white horse with a horn in the center of its forehead. Unicorns were said to have many powers, such as being able to cure disease and purify water. It is said that unicorns could only be captured by a virgin.

Vis forVampire

Vampires are a mythical creature which is said to exist by drinking people's blood. They are said to only come out at night as daylight can destroy them. It is also said they can only be killed by a stake through the heart, or by a silver bullet. A vampire has no reflection, so they cannot be seen in a mirror.

Wis forWitch

A witch is someone, usually a woman, that practises magic. Witches are often seen as practising bad magic that can curse people or make them sick. Some witches are good. These witches are called white witches. It is generally thought that witches can use their magic with various techniques to see into the future. A male witch is sometimes called a warlock.

Wis forWizard

A wizard can also be known as a magician or a sorcerer. Wizards practise magic, and learn their art from many years of studying books. Wizards are usually portrayed as in the picture, as an old man with a long white beard, wearing robes and a pointed hat.
