P is for Piggy bank

A piggy bank or money box is a container you use to store coins, and are usually used by children to save money. Piggy banks can be any shape but are most commonly shaped like a pig. They have a slot in the top to put coins in, and an opening at the bottom to get them out again.

P is for Pot

A pot is a container that is usually made from earthenware or metal. Pots can be used for a great variety of things, and come in different shapes. Most pots are round but some are square, some have handles and some don't, some are narrow at the base and others are the same width the whole way up. Most pots have no lid but some do.
Pots can be used to store things in, to cook food in, or to grow plants in.
Pot is also a slang term for marijuana.

P is for Potty

A potty is a small toilet designed to be just the right size for toddlers who are being toilet trained. Some potties fit onto an adult sized toilet as a kind of second lid.

P is for Pouch

A pouch is a type of small bag that opens at the top. Pouches are often a shape that has a rounded bottom. Some animals, called marsupials have pouches.

P is for Purse

The word 'purse' can have two meanings, depending on if you speak British English or not. In British English, a purse is very similar to a wallet but has a coin compartment and is only used by girls and women.
Most people would use the word purse as another name for a small handbag.

Q is for Quiver

A quiver is something you store arrows in. You usually carry a quiver by wearing it on your back.

S is for Sachet

A sachet is a small bag, usually used to store potpourri or small amounts of condiments like sugar or coffee.

S is for Sack

A sack is a type of large bag that is used to store things in. Sacks are most commonly used to store foods like rice and other grains, flour, and potatoes.

S is for Safe

A safe is a very strong metal box with a locked door.
People use safes to store valuables like jewellery and money, or anything else they do not want other people to steal.

S is for Satchel

A satchel is a small carry-bag, usually with a single strap.

S is for Scabbard

A scabbard, or sheath is a protective container that a sword is kept in. If you are carrying a sword with its scabbard on, you won't get hurt by the blade while you are carrying it.
Scabbards can be quite decorative. The scabbard in the picture is made from leather.
The picture is of the internal skeleton of the sea urchin. They are like a hollow ball and you often find them washed up on the beach.

S is for Sheath

A sheath is a covering for the blade of a knife. Sheaths are often made of leather, and can be quite decorative.
A shipping container is a very large box that is used for transporting goods very long distances. Containers are designed to stack onto each other, and are the perfect size to fit on trucks and trains. You can fit hundreds of containers on a cargo ship.

S is for Suitcase

A suitcase is a kind of box with a handle that you use for putting your clothes in when you travel.
Packed suitcases are sometimes called luggage.
A tank is a large container that is used for holding liquids like water, oil or gasoline. Storage tanks are usually sealed or at least covered over, to keep debris from getting inside them.

T is for Tote bag

A tote bag is a light carry-bag that you use for carrying all sorts of things in, like your groceries.

T is for Trash can

A trash can is somewhere you put your trash so it can be taken to the tip. Trash cans are sometimes called bins or if they are inside they are sometimes calle wastepaper baskets.

T is for Trough

A trough is a big, long, shallow bowl that is usually used for giving food or water to animals.
Troughs can also be filled with soil and used to grow plants in.

T is for Tub

A tub is a large container with an open top. It is wider than it is deep. Large tubs used to be used for doing washing in, but today tubs are usually used to put things in, or for growing plants in.
Tub is also a short word for bathtub or hot tub.
