Damage

A flaw is a quality of something that stops it from being perfect.
A flaw is also called a defect or imperfection.

A gash is a large, deep, jagged wound.

The dog in the picture has had a gash on his face stitched up.

A kink is a sharp bend or twist in something that might even stop it from functioning properly.

For example, a kink in a hose can stop or slow the flow of water.

Rip is another word for tear, where you damage something by pulling it in two different directions at once until it breaks.

Something rots as it breaks into smaller pieces and disintegrates, usually because it is decaying.

Rust is what happens to iron when there is moisture around. Things will rust faster if there is any salt in the water, which happens often near the sea or if salt has been used to de-ice roads or href="/s/sidewalk">sidewalk.
Rust is a distinctive reddish-brown. It is common to see old cars falling apart from rust.

A shipwreck is the remains of a ship that has been destroyed at sea or along the coast.

Shipwrecks are usually under the sea, and people try and find shipwrecks hoping they have treasure inside.

A smear is a smudge of something oily, for example you might smear some butter on your toast. It could also mean any mark or stain that looks like an oily smear.

A stain is a mark made on something that is very difficult to remove. Sometimes stains are accidental, like the ink stain on the clothes in the picture, and sometimes stains are put on something to change the color on purpose.
Cheap, light colored wood like pine is often stained to look like a darker, more expensive wood.

Something is torn if it has been damaged by ripping or tearing it. The mattress in the picture is torn.
