Traditional clogs are wooden shoes usually associated with the Netherlands and surrounding countries. They were worn as protective footwear in industries like mining and in factories. Modern clogs are just slip-on shoes, usually made with wooden soles and a leather upper.

Close is another word for near, and is the opposite of distant or far. The airplanes in the picture are flying very close together.

A clot is a soft lump, usually formed in a liquid. When you cut yourself, your blood clots so you stop bleeding. The picture is of clots forming in milk as it curdles.
