A debate is a structured discussion about the pros and cons of an issue. Each side of the discussion will either be for or against a point of view and will put forward the reasons for their side of the debate. A similar word to debate is argument.

Debris is the broken remains of something that has been destroyed, usually from a natural event like a tornado but debris can be created by any kind of destruction.

A debt is an obligation to return something, usually money, that you have borrowed from someone else. Debts are usually repaid with interest, which means that you pay back more than you have borrowed.
