Cis forCome

You come to someone or somewhere when you leave the place you are now and move to the other person. The dog in the picture is coming to his owner. The opposite of come is go. The past tense of come is came.

Depart means to leave a place, often at the start of a journey. The ship in the picture is departing.

The ends of something that is long and narrow are the shortest sides. The end of a journey is the place you are going to. The end of an event is when it finishes. The opposite of end is start or begin. A similar word to end is stop.

You finish something when you reach the end of it. The woman in the picture is finishing a race. The opposite of finish is start. Similar words to finish are complete and end.

You go when you move or do something, usually when you move away from something. For example, "go away", or "I am going to the shops". The opposite of go is stop. The past tense of go is went.

Gis forGoal

A goal is something that you aim for or work towards - a goal is the end point of something. You might have a goal to save $1000 by the end of the year, or to lose 5 pounds. In many sports, a goal is a place you try and get a ball into.

Lis forLaunch

You launch something, usually a vehicle, when you start it moving. For example you might launch a boat or a rocket. You can also launch a project, for example "today is the big launch of our new campaign".
