A watch is something you can use to tell the time on. Watches are small and usually have a strap on, so you can wear them around your wrist. Large watches that you hang on the wall are called clocks.

A waterfall happens when a creek or river flows over a cliff. Waterfalls can be tiny, only a few inches high, or they can be many hundreds of metres high.
Waterfalls form when a river flows over rocks that are different hardness. The river will erode the softer rock faster than the harder rock, and over a long time a waterfall gradually appears.
A watering can is used to water plants. It has a handle or two you can hold onto, and the spout often has a lot of holes so the water doesn't wash away the soil around your plants, it falls gently like rain.
Water lilies are flowering plants that live in shallow water. They grow their roots in soil at the bottom of the water, and their leaves and flowers both float on top of the water.

Waves on the surface of the sea or a lake are caused by wind blowing over the surface. The longer the wind has been blowing in the same direction and the deeper the water is, the larger the waves can get.
Waves usually only break and make the familiar frothy edge on the wave when they reach the shore. They sometimes break out at sea when they get too steep. Surfers like to surf on breaking waves. The wave in the picture is breaking onto a beach.

Wis forWax

Originally wax was something bees made the inside of their hives out of, that people harvested to use. Wax is soft enough to be able to mold it into new shapes, but doesn't melt at room temperature. Liquid wax will burn with a bright light, and is used to make candles out of.
