A stork is a large black and white wading bird. They live near wetlands, and they eat insects, frogs, and small fish. Many species migrate to warmer places in the colder months.

Stout is a kind of beer that is made from roasted malt or barley. Stouts are much thicker and darker than regular beer, and are typically higher in alcohol content too. The most famous kind of stout is Guinness.
Stout is also a word that means heavily-built, or overweight.

Something is straight if it has no bends, curves or corners in it. The road in the picture is long and straight.

A strand is a single piece of some kind of fiber, like a strand of hair.
Strand also means to leave something or someone where they are helpless, as in "they were stranded on a desert island".

A stranger is someone that you do not know or have never met before.

The opposite of a stranger is a friend.

Straw is a waste product from growing grains like wheat. It is the dried stalks of the plants after the seed heads have been cut off at harvest time. Straw is used for animal bedding, mulching gardens, as thatched rooves, making hats, and as a poor-quality animal feed. Hay is similar to straw but is a better quality animal feed.

A stray animal is any domestic animal that is wandering around with no owner. In the city stray animals are usually cats or dog but larger animals like cows can also go astray.

A street, or road in a city or town is a place that people live on, or that has shops on. There are buildings on either side of the street and people walk or drive on the street.

You stretch something when you pull it so it becomes longer and thinner. When you do warm-up excercises you stretch the muscles in your body, so people call them stretching exercises.
